Other lines through Tokyo
- Yurikamone: from Toyosu (inner fish market) to Shimbashi (South of Tokyo), this line pass above Tokyo bay. As a tourist, you will mainly use it to go to Odaiba. Access to: Line maps
- Tokyu Railway: made up of 9 lines, this lines company are located on the west/south of Tokyo. You may reach this line with the yamanote line (the circle one around tokyo) since Gotanda, Meguro or Shibuya stations. You will mainly use it to go to Yokohama. Tokyo railway : Line Maps
- Seibu Railway: composed by the Ikebukuro Line and the Shinjuku Line (metro), these lines allows you to Saitama prefecture and famous cities as Kawagoe or Hanno. Access to: Line Maps
- Tsukuba Express: composed of a single line from Akihabara to Tsukuba stations, this line located in the north of Tokyo will allow you to reach Ibaraki prefecture. The line is composed of 4 types of trains (Local, Semi-R, Com-R and Rapid). Access to: Line Maps
- Rinkai Line: this line go from Osaki to Shin-kiba stations. It allows you to access to the south-west of Tokyo and join Odaiba. Access to: Line Maps
- Tokyo Tama Intercity Monorail: composed of a single line from Tama to Kamikitadai stations, this line is located on the west part of Tokyo. By it’s location, I don’t think you will use it. Access to: Line Maps
- Saitama Railway: this short line located in saitama prefecture allows to cross Kawaguchi city. Access to (go to the bottom of the page): Line Maps
- Nippori – Toneri line: Manage by Toei company,this short line located in the north of Tokyo connect Nippori to Minumadai-Shinsuikoen stations. Access to: Line Maps
Let's go to famous destination
Keio Railway: Located on the west of Tokyo and composed of two lines, the intersection between two lines is located at Meidaimae station (maps).
The main line of Keio railway connect Shinjuku to Takao Mount as well as diverse stations located on the west of Tokyo. This line is located of 5 types go train (Local, Rapid, Semi-Express, Express and Special Express).
The Inokashira line connect Kichijoji to Shibya and is composed of only 2 types of trains (Local and Express).
Tobu Railway: It’s one of the train line that allow to access to Nikko from Tokyo. This line is also accessible from other line companies. Toby Railway unite 6 lines (Maps):
Skytree line ; connect Asakusa to Ashikagashi
Nikko line; connect Minami-Kurishashi to Tobbu-Nikko stations
Urban Park line; connect Omiya to Funabashi stations
Tojo line: connect Ikebukuro to Kawagoeshi stations
Kameido line: a short line of 5 stops connect Higashi-mukojima to Kameido stations.
Kinugawa line: connetec to Nikko line via Shimo-Imaichi station, it allow to go to Shin-Fujiwara.
Odakyu Railway: it is the line that allows you to access to Hakone as well as Shimo-Kitazawa, famous district close from Tokyo (Maps). Odakyu Railway are composed of 6 types of train (Rapid Express, Express, Semi-Express, Local, Comutter Express et Commuter Semi Express) and 3 lines:
Odawara line
Tama line
Enoshima line
From Shinjuku, you may go to Hakone. To do that, go to the Odawara line terminus (Odawara station) from Shinjuku station. Then, in the same company station, get in the Hakone Tozan line that will allow you to reach Hakone.
Airports lines - Tokyo
Keisei Railway: it is the line that connect Narita airport from Tokyo center. Keisei Railway is composed of 3 lines:
Skyliner line; from Ueno to Narita airport
Access Express line; from aéroport Narito to Ueno as well as Shinagawa, Ginza, Asakusa…
Keisei Main Line Rapide Express: reach as well Ueno, the difference compared to others is the stop at Keisei-Funabashi station.
Tokyo Monorail: connect Haneda airport to Hammatsucho station, there are three différent types of train: Haneda Express, Rapid and local trains. The Haneda Express is a direct between Hammamatsucho and the 3 terminals of haneda airport.
Keikyu Railway: another line that connect Haneda airport to Tokyo center and Misakiguchi (south of Yokohama). Once again there are different types of train (local, Express, Limited Express Tokkyu, Limited Express Kaitoku and Airport Limited Express) that doesn’t serve each station.
